Back at the end of July, we packed up and went to the boulder mountains. There was us, and two other families that traveled over with us. The trip over was eventful to say the least. The Black's ended up getting two flat tires by the time we got to hanksville. So, we stopped there to find new tires. (we ROASTED and got eaten ALIVE btw) and while we were sitting there, we noticed something was not looking right with our truck and trailer. Steve looked underneath and found out that we had a broken hitch. As in, almost ready to come off. SCARY. I feel so blessed that we had to stop in hanksville and wait, because if not, we would no longer have a trailer. Steve said it for sure would have broken off on the way up all those hills. I know we were being looked after. We finally got to our destination (8 hours later) only to find that someone had taken the camp spot we had planned on. So there are three trucks and trailers in the dark trying to find a camping spot, pulling in and out, turning around, etc. It was a nightmare. In all that ruckus, somehow one of the windows in our camp trailer had broken out.
We finally found a spot, pulled in, got tired cranky kids out and put them to bed, (after cleaning up broken glass all over the inside of the trailer). The adults climed in bed at about 1:30 in the morning. WHAT A WAY TO START A VACATION!
After all that, we ended up having the best time. We fished, did some swimming, rode four wheelers, took naps, visited with friends, played jump rope, enjoyed some yummy food, watched movies on the projecter outside, sat around the camp fire, and then, fished some more. Worth all the hassle. I took a ton of pictures. Here are some, I will do more in another post. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the trip!
