SPRING BREAK

My kids look forward to spring break.  We don't do anything fabulous,  but to my kids (and truthfully, Steve and I) spring break is one of the BEST times of the year.  We load up and head to the winter range for four or five days.  We love to be OUT and away from town, chaos, phones, tv, computer, school, work, and away from REALITY.  There is seriously nothing better.  We had great friends camping with us, had yummy camping food, rode the horses ALOT, enjoyed the campfire, and enjoyed each other.  I took an excessive amount of pictures--  Here are just a few.

My sweet Jay rode her little heart out!  I am talking about 15 miles while we were there.  For those of you who don't know how far that is on a horse, for a little girl,  it's a ton!

Tay's not much of a picture taker--  I think everyone knows that by now.  I tried in vain to get a picture of her brushing and taking care of Lem.  It melts my heart to see how much she takes care of him.  Once she found out I was trying to sneak a picture, this is what she did till I left and put the camera away.  I guess grumpy pictures are better than none at all.

Steve spent alot of time checking in with work.

Baxter was giving out a plentiful amount of doggie kisses.  Trace always seemed to be the lucky recipient.

He he......  I did get at least one,  it's not great,  but I will take it!

There were so many horses, saddles, cowboys, trailers, etc.  It was awesome.  This is where most of the saddles were kept while not in use--  I wish the picture did it justice.  Something about all these saddles lined up is therapy to me.  I know,  I'm a little weird.

Here is a view from the back of the rock corral first thing in the morning

Here is a view of camp first thing in the morning.

Trace is a dog magnet.  They follow him everywhere.

Baxter, enjoying life.

One of my fav's from the week.  Steve is getting T ready for a morning of riding.

Off to the corral he goes to catch his horse. (Notice the dogs following again.  I'm not joking.  Dog magnet.)

T and Lem.

Tay was a little bummed that we have to share Lem.  She went over by Grandma B for a while.

So sad.  (please don't judge me for the nasty hair.....  I pretty much don't touch it when we are out)

I was in charge of meeting everyone down at the pond one day with lunch-  T had a nice little rest while we were waiting.

This picture focused on the tree, not Tay and Steve,  but I wanted to post it anyway.  I loved watching her give Lem a drink.  This is something that has been intimidating for her,  so she's getting braver!  Way to go Tay!

This is the day we came home.  Max was BEAT.  He worked hard all week.

More of Tay with Lem.  Getting ready to put him in the trailer to head home.  Poor Lem was beat too.

I love that Steve will show the kids what needs to be done.  This is the kind of knot you need to tie Tay--

PERFECT! She's looking at the camera!  I don't think she could help it.  She was tickled pink that she got to load Lem in the trailer.

T spent alot of time playing in the dirt.

This picture my friends,  makes me bawl.

My favorite picture from the week.......   While I was waiting at the pond with lunch,  this is what I saw when they arrived.  See that adorable cowgirl just a waving? That's my girl.

I went to a play group today without combing Libby's hair. I don't care if they judge me. :) And I love your life. Sometimes I wish my sweet hubby was also a cowboy. He's terrified of riding. But he's willing to take me somewhere and let me ride. :)
