HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACE!

My sweet baby boy is 6!  Wow.  Trace is a pro on Mario Kart, so naturally that's what he wanted to have his party be this year.  We had such a great afternoon.  He received some great gifts, we are so blessed to have fabulous family and friends.  Here are some things about T-race at 6:

*I have learned this past year that he is SO smart.  He has far exceeded my expectations for him in Kindergarten.

*He is a meat and potatoes kind of boy.  Just like his dad.

*He is a sucker for the wii.  I can bribe him to do almost anything if he knows wii time is the reward.  (YES,  I do bribe my kids.  If you don't agree,  sorry--  it works for us,  so that's how we roll)

*He may seem like a rough tough cowboy,  but inside he is super sensitive.

*He is still an animal lover.

*He still thinks that dad is the most amazing person on earth. 

*Trace is a SERIOUS story teller.  I am so serious.  He can talk your ear off and could tell you story after story about one thing or another.

*He is currently hell bent on learning how to build a fire with flint and steel.  Thank you Steve and 7th ward scouts.

*He can't wait for summer to be here so we can play tennis.

*He loves to play the guitar and is starting lessons next week! 

*He loves to read and is so proud of himself because he can.  I LOVE his confidence.

Opening presents: 

The coyote call from Aunt Marti was a hit!  Except with mom....  Just kidding.  He already has a few animal calls,  he just knows the rule is outside or I get to take them away.

This is called Lizard Spit.  A special cleaner for his guitar.  He told my brother that's what he wanted clear back in January. He was so excited.

My son,  You are a light in our family.  You are always happy.  You make me a better person.  I can not believe that you are six.  You are an amazing boy.  You are brilliant.  My favorite thing about you right now is your smile.  You smile with your whole heart and soul.  Your smile lights up a room.  If I am having a rough day,  I can count on a smile from you to make me feel like the most blessed person in the world.  Because really,  I AM BLESSED. I love you T.
